I had the opportunity to have a soul-led conversation with Ember Kelley, a director of religious education at Fourth Universalist Society in New York, a transwoman, and an all-round heart driven human being. This conversation opened my heart and my eyes in many ways and I am so happy to be able to share it with you through this podcast episode.
Ember talks very openly about her history with religion and religious trauma, how her journey of being trans has woven into that and how she is now redefining spirituality for herself. We talk about genderdysphoria, self love, religion vs spirituality and embracing the divine feminine. We discuss how Christianity has shaped her journey and how despite it, she has learned to love herself and celebrate her truth. We also reflect on how the online world can be both a blessing and a curse in terms of toxicity and education.
It’s so important to me to be conscious about how inclusive and diverse the conversations are that I am having for this podcast and in my life and as I continue to learn about different perspectives and journeys, I hope you will learn with me. Please reach out to me and/or Ember if this podcast episode sparked something in you, in any type of way. I’d love to hear from you!
